Letting Go of Control

Anonymous Dreamy Pixie #351 · General Confessions

I recently ended my long-term relationship and am still figuring out how to navigate this newfound freedom. My ex was always my caregiver, someone I relied on heavily for emotional stability and guidance. But now, without him around, I'm struggling with the basic tasks of daily life that he used to handle effortlessly. It feels strange, having no one to check in on me or give me a sense of direction. I've found myself longing for those moments when we played out scenarios where he would take charge and I'd let go completely, those little-space moments felt so safe and reassuring. Does anyone else find that a supportive dynamic can be both empowering and disorienting after the relationship ends? How do you handle that transition?
