Oops! Little Miss Forgetful
Anonymous Fuzzy Marshmallow #409 · General Confessions
I'm a nurse in my thirties and for as long as I can remember, playing mommy has always been a big part of who I am. Today, though, I made a little slip-up that had me feeling like an irresponsible child instead of the caring parent figure I usually strive to be. My partner, whom I call Baby, asked me to pick up some groceries before heading home and specifically requested apples since they're his favorite. But guess what? When I got back with the shopping bags, there were no green orbs in sight, because I forgot! Instead of apples, I brought home a bag full of cookies. The moment he saw them, those big brown eyes lit up with delight, but I could tell by the way he asked if we had any fruit that he was disappointed about my forgetfulness. So, after enjoying some sweet treats together, I gave him a stern lecture and a time-out to think about what I did wrong, myself! It's one of those silly moments when you catch yourself not living up to your role as mommy, but the day still ended on a happy note with a little playful discipline to make amends.
