just felt like confessin

so i was babysitting for my friend's kid last weekend and the mom was out late. this little guy is always so polite and quiet but he started asking me questions about when i was younger, you know? like how old did i start dating and stuff. it made me feel a bit nostalgic but also kind of awkward because i'm way older than his parents are. anywho, the thing that really got to me was this kid kept saying he wanted to play pretend with me as if i were his mommy, which is kinda funny 'cause i've got 3 kids of my own who are all grown up now. but seeing him look at me like that made something inside me just crack a little, you know? it's not even about the age gap or anything weird like that, more like this connection to childhood and growing up, how quick that is. felt kinda special having someone see me in a different light for once.
