Confession of a Newly Single Little Again

Anonymous Bratty Bean #584 · General Confessions

I recently got divorced and my ex was always so serious about everything. But now that we're officially apart, I've found myself drawn to the idea of embracing something I never dared before: becoming a little again. It's been almost two years since our separation and I'm feeling this overwhelming sense of freedom and excitement, like I can finally be whoever I want without worrying about his disapproval. Growing up, there were times when I felt trapped in my responsibilities and the expectations others had for me as an adult. But now, after so much personal growth and healing from therapy (which he never supported), I feel a new openness to explore parts of myself that have been hidden away or repressed since college. Lately, I've been looking at online communities and forums dedicated to little space, finding comfort in the anonymity and understanding they offer. It's exhilarating but also a bit scary because it feels like taking a huge leap back into my past, albeit with all the lessons of adulthood under my belt. So here I am, sharing this part of me that I thought was gone forever. There's something thrilling about reclaiming childhood innocence and playfulness at 35+. However, there’s also doubt, should I be worried about falling too far back into old habits or patterns? Am I doing myself a disservice by indulging in such intense nostalgia? I guess my question is: Is it normal for someone to feel this way after ending a long-term relationship and finally being free to express themselves without fear of judgment from an ex who was never supportive of their personal interests, especially those involving age-play or DDLG dynamics? Are there any pitfalls I should be aware of as I embrace this new chapter?
