A New Start in Submission?
Anonymous Snuggly Duckling #345 · General Confessions
I've just come out of a six-year marriage where my wife always said she was into BDSM and DDLG, but the truth is that I never felt like I could fully embrace it. We tried a few things here and there, but it never really clicked for me. Fast forward to this year, after our divorce, I'm seeing a therapist who encouraged me to explore deeper self-understanding through my interests. Recently, on a whim, I joined an adult DDLG/kink forum as someone looking to understand more about these dynamics from a submissive perspective. It's been overwhelming but also exhilarating. There’s this one person, let’s call them Alex, who’s much younger than me and is incredibly knowledgeable and understanding of DDLG practices. We started talking online and there was an instant connection. It's all very new to me, which makes it thrilling yet intimidating at the same time. Alex suggested we meet in person one day to discuss things more thoroughly, but I had a bit of a panic attack thinking about what this could mean for my emotional well-being. On one hand, I feel like I might be rediscovering an aspect of myself that has been buried since before my marriage ended; on the other hand, it feels too soon after everything with my ex-wife. What got me even more confused was when Alex mentioned they were willing to take on a little girl role for me during sessions. This idea excited and scared me equally because I didn’t think anyone would be so open to such a setup post-divorce. But then I remembered that therapists often say embracing your desires openly is healthy. So here's my big dilemma: Is it okay to dive deep into these waters with someone new when I'm still healing from a major breakup? Or am I rushing things and potentially setting myself up for more heartache? I feel like there’s so much uncertainty about where this could go, but the potential for growth is exciting. Any advice on how to proceed without rushing or being reckless would be greatly appreciated.
