A Small Transgression of Rules
Anonymous Dizzy Plum #214 · General Confessions
I've always been a rule-follower in my personal life, but as Nurse Mommy to my submissive, I'm the one making and enforcing those rules. Being a Mommy isn't just about nurturing and care, it's also about setting boundaries that keep everyone safe and comfortable within our dynamic. It feels like part of my role to ensure both freedom and discipline are balanced carefully. Last week, though, I broke one of my own rules. I told him he wasn’t allowed to use the internet for anything but research on a specific project we were working on together, which was important for his professional growth as well as our relationship development. The rule had nothing to do with controlling or punishing; it was intended to help both us focus and limit distractions. But I slipped up one night when he was asleep. Bored out of my mind and seeking a moment's escape from the stress of his looming deadlines, I clicked onto a social media site I hadn't checked in ages. It felt like an indulgence at first, just a few minutes to check old high school friend accounts or laugh at some silly memes. Once it started, though, I got sucked into a rabbit hole that led me way past my one small click. It was an hour before I realized how long it had been since I'd logged in last and checked the time. That’s when the guilt hit, here I am, telling him to be disciplined about his online activity while I'm sneaking around behind his back engaging for hours on end with no thought towards my own boundaries. I didn't hide what I did from him; it would have been pointless given how transparent we try to be in our dynamic. I confessed everything the next day and took full responsibility, though I knew he was disappointed that I didn’t stick to the rule I'd set for myself. We talked through why the rule is important for both of us, and more importantly, what I could do better going forward. Even after all these years of being together in this way, every time I take on my role as Mommy, it’s a reminder of how much trust needs to be earned and maintained. Breaking that small personal rule felt like betraying not only him but the whole dynamic between us.
