A Secret That Shines Through Dark Clouds

Anonymous Whispering Marshmallow #517 · General Confessions

I recently went through a messy divorce and felt like the ground had been pulled out from under me. My husband was the one who made all the decisions, but he didn't seem to care about my feelings or needs. It was a stark contrast to how I imagined our life together would be. To cope with the sudden emptiness in my heart, and to fill the void of control I once felt over my life, I found myself leaning into a peculiar kink that had always lurked in the shadows: being both a little and a caregiver. It started as just role-play sessions with someone who understood me better than anyone else ever did. In these moments, I could be completely vulnerable, yet also protective of this person, which gave me balance and comfort. It was empowering to be able to switch between the two roles seamlessly, but it still feels embarrassing to admit even now. These intimate sessions were a source of strength for me during one of my lowest points in life. I know I should move on, yet there's this lingering fear that no other relationship will understand or accept who I truly am both as a little and a caregiver.
