I was supposed to finish cleaning up the garden before heading inside for lunch. Instead, I saw some ripe strawberries and couldn't resist picking a few, even though I knew they were meant for our weekly market stall. Now, there are less than half a dozen left and guilt gnaws at me because it's a rule I broke, something that feels so juvenile when I'm 23. It was just one little thing, but it made me realize how much I enjoy being told what to do and how it’s comforting to follow rules, even if they're self-imposed ones in this playful grown-up dynamic.
