When I Gave My Caregiver a Test Run as Little

So here’s my thing, my college boyfriend and I are both into DDLG stuff. We’re the same age, but we like playing out different roles now and then. He usually prefers to be the caregiver and have me act younger, kind of like how some people just like the role-reversal aspect of it all. But today, I decided to switch things up. Instead of being his little one, I wanted to take on the caregiver role for him. My idea was that he’d pretend to be a young lad needing guidance, and I’d be the mature mentor type who takes care of him. We talked about it before we got started, this isn’t some secret or anything. It’s all consensual, clear boundaries set beforehand. We agreed that if something felt off during the role-play, we’d just stop. So when I started talking to him as his “big sister” and gave him a stern lecture about finishing his homework, it was perfectly fine. But then things got interesting. After a while, he asked me to do some discipline stuff, like having him apologize for not studying enough and making him write an essay on why responsibility is important. It felt odd at first, I mean, we’re adults. But somehow the dynamic of being his authority figure in this scenario was strangely appealing. So here’s where I ask you guys: Is it weird that I found pleasure in taking control over my boyfriend in this way? Should a switch like me be okay with just playing little or should exploring other sides of DDLG play be fine too, as long as everyone involved is comfy and communicative? It was definitely a shift for both of us. What do you think about the dynamics I’ve described here? Let me know in the comments!
