A Trainer's Secret Sadness
Anonymous Peachy Moth #764 · General Confessions
I've been a personal trainer for over five years now, always the strong and encouraging one. But lately, I’ve found myself drawn to this younger client of mine, Alex. He’s in his twenties, and there's something about him that reminds me of my own struggles when I was starting out as an athlete. We started a Daddy/little dynamic a few months ago, which feels like it helps both of us. But tonight, after pushing him harder than usual during our workout, seeing the sweat on his face, it hit me how much I miss being that age too, when everything felt new and full of possibility. It's starting to feel less about helping him grow and more about me longing for my past. Am I just getting nostalgic in a way that’s not healthy? Should I consider stepping back from this role?
