Caught in the Moment

I never expected something like this would happen to me. I've been working at the same coffee shop for over a year now, and one of our regulars, let's call him Alex, has always been really nice. He’s probably in his mid-thirties with short dark hair and these piercing blue eyes that just seem to see right through you sometimes. It wasn't until this past week that I realized something different was going on. We were running a bit late closing up one night when he showed up. Instead of getting his usual coffee, he asked if I wanted to sit down for a minute. He had this way about him that made it hard to say no. And then he started talking about the idea of playacting like we were in different roles - teacher and student kind of stuff. It was such an unexpected turn. We ended up spending quite a bit of time together, mostly just chatting and joking around, but there was something else going on too. This isn't really my scene at all, but with Alex, I felt comfortable exploring this side of myself that I didn’t even know existed. It's crazy how fast things can change when you're open to new experiences.
