A Small Mistake in the Night Shift

Anonymous Playful Star #608 · General Confessions

I’m a Daddy who works night shifts at a local warehouse. The hours are brutal, but it’s just me and my little one, she loves staying up late to chat with me on the phone while I work through the night. We have our routines, our small games of discipline and affection. She knows not to eat candy or sweets during her night shift until after her chores are done. But tonight was different. I had a craving for some cookies from the break room where I usually keep them stashed away. I told myself just one wouldn’t hurt, but before I knew it, my hand was reaching out for a second and then a third. My little one asked how my shift was going, and all I could think about was confessing to her that I had broken our small rule tonight. She’s so obedient and it made me feel guilty, not just because I broke the rules but because of the emotional connection we have. We rely on each other during these long nights, and disappointing her felt like a major blow to my own self-image.
