Found My Kink in a Solo Adventure

Anonymous Snuggly Fawn #668 · General Confessions

I recently found out about Dominance and submission (D/s) while exploring my sexuality solo. I thought I knew myself pretty well, but this discovery was like a whole new chapter of self-understanding opening up. It's not something I've ever shared with anyone or acted on - just an exploration in the safety of solitude. I'm 26 and have always been somewhat independent, even choosing to live alone after my parents moved away when I turned 18+. My current girlfriend isn't a fan of kink scenes, but she's supportive of me being comfortable with myself sexually - so far we haven't ventured into anything deeper than the usual relationship dynamics. Discovering this aspect of my sexuality is exciting and daunting at once. I’ve been reading up on different D/s practices, role-play scenarios, and watching videos to understand more about what I might want in a potential partner or scenario. The idea of submitting to someone who respects me, but also enjoys being in charge, feels incredibly freeing. I'm not sure if this is something I can share with my current relationship though, without it feeling like an insult or betrayal. We've been together for over two years and she's a wonderful person. At the same time, how do you keep a part of yourself locked up just because you're afraid to bring it out? It’s not about wanting to hurt her feelings; I want us both to grow and be honest with ourselves. Am I being selfish in exploring this side of me without considering my partner's limits or perspective first? How can I move forward while respecting where we are as a couple right now? Is there something wrong with wanting more out of life when it comes to intimacy and connection, especially if it means learning more about myself and potentially growing closer to someone through mutual understanding and respect?
