Mistakenly Drinking My Patron's Drink

Anonymous Candy Moth #459 · General Confessions

I'm a bartender and have been for years. You'd think after all that time I'd be able to tell the difference between my patrons' drinks and mine, right? Well, you’d think wrong if you know me. I’m not just any bartender, I’m a Mommy in my DDLG world. My patrons often call me 'Mom,' and while it's usually playful and doesn't bleed into my professional boundaries, tonight was different. I felt so stressed that the lines blurred. I had this regular, let’s call him Alex, who comes every week at 6 PM for a martini. He loves to sit in his favorite spot by the window, sipping while he watches the world go by. Tonight, as usual, he ordered his standard drink and I prepared it with care. But, amidst the chaos of busy nights and dealing with difficult customers, something slipped my mind. I took Alex's finished martini for a second before realizing what had happened, no, I drank a patron’s drink without their consent. It was a small oversight, but in my DDLG dynamic, it felt like breaking the biggest rule there is. I froze and tried to quickly cover up, pretending nothing happened by making another drink with an extra flourish and placing it down as if I'd meant to do that all along. Alex didn't seem to notice the difference, but inside, my head was spinning. Was I really the type of person who would make such a mistake? It’s not like stealing or something serious, just a simple error, yet it felt huge. The thought nagged at me for hours after he left and long into my shift ended. I obsessed over why this small thing bothered me so much. Was it because in the DDLG dynamic, everything is about control, control over oneself and others? Did drinking his drink mean I lost control or that I crossed an unspoken line of respect between us as Mommy and child? Or was it just guilt from a simple human error amplified by the roleplay world? As the night went on, more patrons came in, but my mind kept circling back to that little sip. I decided after work tonight I would write Alex a heartfelt note of apology for my mistake. It wasn’t a grand gesture or anything overtly sexual within our dynamic, no, it was about acknowledging that even when you’re in control as a Mommy, sometimes you slip up and lose your footing in the smallest ways.
