Painted by Words and Flesh

So here's the thing, I’ve always been a big fan of pushing boundaries in both art and life. I've dabbled in all sorts of things, from surreal landscapes to abstract nudes, but there was this one kink that I never thought would fit into my creative world until recently. It started with a friend at an art workshop where we were playing around with role-playing different characters as part of our painting process. You know how it goes, someone suggests being a knight, another says they want to be a princess. We all got silly and goofy about it. But there was this one person who wanted to play the teacher-student dynamic in a way that wasn’t just role-play but had an underlying tone of strict discipline mixed with deep affection. It was intriguing, to say the least. There’s something about someone telling you what to do, not just in your art but in your life, how to behave, how to feel, that can really inspire creativity and passion. I’ve been struggling for a while now because I've started to realize that this isn't just an artistic exercise for me anymore, it's a real kink. And it’s been bubbling up whenever I start working on something new or whenever I’m feeling particularly lost artistically. The idea of having someone guide my creative process, even if it means being scolded or disciplined when I stray from what they think is the right path, damn, it gets me going in ways that nothing else does. The first time it happened, I was so surprised by my reaction. We were playing this game where one person could say anything to me and I had to do it, even things that felt embarrassing or out of character for me as an artist. And there he was, telling me what colors not to use, how to hold the brush, how to think about composition… all while making sure I knew my place. It’s absurdly arousing. I’m still trying to figure this out. How do you reconcile your art with a kink that feels so intensely personal and yet can also be incredibly freeing? And will it ever go beyond playful teasing into something deeper, something that could really impact the way I create? So there it is, I’ve been keeping this to myself for too long. I’m an artist, but my brush strokes might start to show a different side of me soon enough.
