Conflicted Mindset
Anonymous Fuzzy Marshmallow #805 · General Confessions
For as long as I can remember, there's been a particular aspect of my interactions with students that has puzzled me. It started subtly but grew into something more pronounced over the years. There is an undeniable sense of satisfaction and control when guiding them, almost to the point where it feels therapeutic. This dynamic isn't about power in any unhealthy way; rather, it revolves around nurturing a strong bond between mentor and mentee. Yet, this has evolved into a different kind of connection that I struggle to articulate or fully comprehend. The analytical part of my mind constantly questions why such dynamics can trigger an emotional response so intense it borders on the physical. It's almost as if there is an unspoken language in these moments, a silent communication where my role transcends traditional boundaries, leading me down paths that seem at once liberating and unsettling. I write this not to seek understanding but to acknowledge a complexity within myself that challenges conventional notions of teacher-student relationships.
