i got caught

daddy had asked me to clean the living room before i could have my snack but i was so hungry and it looked like such a little chore that i decided to take care of both at once. i snuck into the kitchen, grabbed a cookie and stuffed it in my mouth, crumbs everywhere as i rushed back out to start on the cleaning. of course, daddy came home early and saw everything - the untouched room and the half-eaten cookie with telltale fingerprints. he gave me such a look that made me feel like a naughty girl caught red-handed even though deep down i knew it was silly. he reminded me we were supposed to follow rules before rewards but he let me finish my snack eventually, just as punishment. now when i’m hungry and see chores waiting, i kinda worry about breaking the rules again.
