The Mommy Complex Unpacked
Anonymous Midnight Moth #394 · General Confessions
So here's the thing, I'm a trans man in my late 20s who's been into DDLG for years now. It all started when I was dating someone who had an intense mom fantasy, and after we broke up, I decided to run with it more seriously on my own. There’s this girl, let's call her Chloe, I’ve known since college, but she’s recently moved back to town after a breakup of her own. We've kept in touch online and over the phone, mostly talking about our days and catching up on old times. One night, we get into a discussion about DDLG stuff, she had no idea I was into it, and suddenly there's this electric moment where she asks if I'd be interested in trying something like that with her. She’s not sure what exactly she means by 'mom' but is intrigued and curious, which is great because it's the exact dynamic I’ve always been drawn to. We set a date for our first meeting as 'Mommy & Chloe,' and everything goes pretty smoothly. There are moments when she acts out in playful defiance and needs disciplined (yes, very explicitly), and other times when she melts into my lap for comfort and reassurance. We're both really into it, the intensity of our interactions is off the charts. After a few sessions, we run into some boundaries issues. I’m more into discipline and pushing her limits to see how far she can go before needing guidance. Chloe prefers more nurturing moments and less edge. It’s not that either of us are wrong or right, just different preferences within the same setup. We’ve agreed to keep talking about it, making adjustments, but honestly, it feels like I might need to switch roles to a Daddy figure if we're going to continue this at all. But I love being Mommy too much to just throw that away. It’s been an incredible journey of self-discovery and experimentation with Chloe, but also one full of surprises and challenges. Being Mommy is like being in the driver's seat, calling the shots, setting rules and limits, but it’s also forced me to confront my own expectations and boundaries, which can be uncomfortable territory. I'm still figuring out what this means for our dynamic moving forward.
