Working the Night Shift Has Its Perks...
Anonymous Midnight Moth #826 · General Confessions
So yeah, I've been working nights at the warehouse for about six months now. It's kinda wild how my routine has shifted completely. Used to be all about hitting the gym in the morning and going out with friends during weekends. But now? Midnight snacks and coffee runs are like second nature... It started when this new guy joined our shift a month back. He’s about my age, early twenties, I think. We hit it off pretty fast. He’s got this...spark to him. Like he’s always buzzing with energy even at 3 AM. We’d chat and joke around during downtime... Anyway, we ended up getting really close. Not just coworkers stuff but more of a real connection kind of thing. He suggested we try something different once. You know? A little roleplay. I was hesitant at first... But there’s this part of me that kinda digs playing pretend every now and then. So I gave it a shot... It went surprisingly well. We played it safe, no pressure or anything. It felt liberating actually... And hey, we’re both adults so we can do what we want as long as it’s consensual, right? But here’s the thing: I’ve started to like these roleplay sessions a lot more than regular old dates and stuff... Is this weird though? Like, am I supposed to feel this way about something that isn’t real? He tells me he feels the same but there’s this voice in my head saying maybe we’re just fooling ourselves. And now it’s not just roleplaying, sometimes we just hang out as regular friends and... It doesn’t have the same spark... What do you guys think? Am I the asshole for getting more into playing pretend than reality? Or is it okay to let yourself go with something that feels right even if it's not 'real'?
