i broke a rule but it feels like more

ok so last week i was visiting my daddy for the weekend and we had this whole thing where he would give me chores to do around the house. i mean, sure it's not like he was being strict or anything, just wanted me to keep up with things while he worked from home. anyways, one day he gave me a list of stuff to clean - dishes, vacuuming, laundry, that kind of thing and told me if i got everything done by sunday evening we could do something special on monday. like maybe go out for lunch or something fun. so at first it was all fine. i did the dishes and started on the laundry but then my phone buzzed with a message from a friend asking to come over and hang out, which sounded amazing. so i told myself i'd finish up the chores later that night. but you know how that goes... before i knew it, it was like 8 pm and i still hadn't done everything on the list. my daddy said no hanging out with friends until all chores were finished. i knew this. but instead of telling him honestly about not getting it done, i just made an excuse saying i had to run errands late in the day. he seemed kinda suspicious but let me off easy that time because it was only a small thing. as soon as i got home though, all i could think about was how much trouble i would be in if he found out i lied. even thinking back on it now, it doesn't seem like such a big deal to break one rule and fib a little, but there's something about this whole dynamic that makes me feel so guilty and anxious when i mess up. honestly i'm not sure why the little space is so important to me emotionally, but i definitely don't want to ruin things by being disobedient or dishonest.
