Musing on Kinks

I've always been fascinated by the idea of control and surrender in the bedroom. It's strange how being bound or even just verbally told what to do can turn me on so much more than anything else. But I'm trying to figure out why exactly? Is it the thrill of breaking free from everyday norms, or is there something deeper about trust and letting go? I mean, it's not like I want to be someone's slave in real life, but for a few moments, it feels liberating to just let everything else fade away.
