A Brief Escape into Fantasy
Anonymous Dreamy Pixie #614 · General Confessions
I’ve been married for twenty years now and we have a wonderful life together. But every so often, I find myself wanting to explore something beyond our day-to-day routine. Last week, my partner surprised me by suggesting we try something new, a temporary roleplay where I was the child and he took on the role of the caregiver. At first, I felt embarrassed, thinking it wouldn’t feel right. But when we actually did it, all hesitation melted away in an instant. The way he held me like I needed protection, his gentle discipline, everything just made my heart race with excitement and a sense of being cared for in ways I hadn't experienced since childhood. It was both terrifying and thrilling to let go so completely. So there I was, fully dressed as if returning to grade school after summer break, yet the connection we shared felt like more than just playing pretend. When he disciplined me lightly but firmly, a rare sight for us married folks, it left me breathless, wanting even more of this escape into fantasy. We've both agreed that while we love each other deeply as equals, having an occasional glimpse into different dynamics can add spice to our relationship. But here’s my question: how do others navigate these kinds of roleplays without them overshadowing or changing the established dynamic between partners? I’d love to hear from those who have similar experiences and advice for keeping it fun but respectful.
