A Secret I Can't Shake Off

I've been taking care of my partner, who's also in her early twenties, for about a year now. She has health issues that make it hard for her to manage things on her own sometimes, so I help with everyday stuff like grocery shopping and cooking meals. But lately, something strange has happened. There are times when she calls me over or asks for help, but not because of any real need, it's like she wants to feel taken care of just because. It feels... odd, like there's some kind of emotional pull where I'm the one in charge and she's waiting for my guidance even though we never talked about this dynamic before. When she does these things, my heart races and I feel a mix of protectiveness and... something else that's hard to explain or admit. I'm not sure if it's healthy to have this feeling, and I definitely don't know how to talk to her about it without sounding crazy. Does anyone here experience something similar? Is it normal to have these feelings when you're in a caregiving role?
