i ate that last cookie

so today my partner was supposed to be having a late meeting and i knew there were cookies in the kitchen. we have this rule where one of us has to eat a cookie only if the other gives permission, kinda silly but it’s our thing. anyway, i texted her and she said no, but i got super hungry later and just thought one little cookie couldn’t hurt. so i took the last one when she wasn’t home yet and ate it all up. felt pretty bad about breaking the rule even though it was such a small deal, ended up writing her an apology note with a sketch of a cookie on it as compensation. didn't feel right having some secret little rebellion against something we agreed to abide by just because i wanted that one sweet moment of indulgence. guess sometimes rules are there for a reason even when they seem trivial. was wondering what y'all think, am i the asshole here or nah? maybe i should have been stronger in my resolve but man those cookies were calling me! 😅
