my daddy moment at work
Anonymous Cherry Bunny #585 · General Confessions
i run this coffee shop in a small town and there's this one girl who works for me. she's kinda new and still getting the hang of things. i'm older, mid forties, and have taken on a bit of a mentor role with her. we've got a really good dynamic going but recently it's gotten more than just work stuff between us. so like yesterday, she made this huge mistake at work. messed up an order that cost the shop money, and in front of all these customers too. i could see how upset and ashamed she was feeling so i decided to take charge a bit. you know how some people are like 'we're going to handle this together' but it's not really addressing anything? well, i knew what had to be done. i took her aside into my office after closing time. talked about the mistake and why it was unacceptable. i'm daddy in our dynamic outside of work so i let that part of me come through here too. gave her some chores to do around the shop, cleaning up some stuff she's been neglecting. also had her write out a letter addressing what happened to all the customers who were affected. just wanted her to really take responsibility and learn from this. she ended up crying but i didn't let that stop me. it was important for her to get through this like an adult would. by the end she was so grateful and felt much better about herself. said she appreciated how i showed no mercy because she knew deep down she needed it. now we're doing way better at work, and our personal dynamic feels stronger than ever.
