The Weight of Expectations
Anonymous Cuddly Sprite #208 · General Confessions
I've been trying so hard lately to be this perfect Daddy figure for my submissive partner. I want her to feel safe and loved, like the little girl she acts out as sometimes needs. But there's a part of me that feels utterly lost, like no matter what I do or say, it's never enough. We're both adults here, in our twenties, but the dynamic we've chosen is so... demanding. It asks for so much more than just regular communication and understanding; it demands emotions, boundaries, and constant reassurance on every level. I remember watching old cartoons when I was younger (yes, I'm aware that's a simile now), where the dad would always be the one to fix everything with a wave of his hand or a hug. And honestly, sometimes I feel like those characters are my role models. But here in real life, it's just not that simple. There’s this constant pressure to know what she needs before she knows herself, to anticipate her wants and fulfill them as if they were my own. It’s exhausting. I'm trying to get better at letting go of the expectations I set for myself. But sometimes I feel like I’m drowning in a sea of unmet responsibilities, and it makes me sad. The truth is, despite all the joy we share, there are moments when being this Daddy feels overwhelming.
