A Coffee Mishap
Anonymous Snuggly Fawn #747 · General Confessions
Working behind the counter at a bustling coffee shop can be intense. Last week was particularly hectic. A customer called out for her order to be quick because she had a meeting, but I misheard and rushed through her drink too fast. She tasted it and frowned before politely asking if there might have been something wrong with how it was made. My face went red as I realized my mistake, she wasn't complaining about the taste at all; she was just surprised by how quickly her order had come together compared to usual. It felt like a major faux pas, even though everyone makes mistakes sometimes. I apologized and promised to remake it for free right away. She accepted with grace, but the whole day after that, I kept replaying what happened over in my head, wondering if I let down my customers by rushing without fully checking in. That little mistake still feels heavy on me, even though no real harm was done.
