Forgot The Milk Again!
Anonymous Sugar Cub #192 · General Confessions
Hey everyone, so I'm this stay-at-home parent thing and I play both sides of the switch coin, sometimes little and needing guidance, and other times being that strong caregiver who takes charge. Anyway, today's confession isn't anything earth-shattering or kinky; it's just a silly moment that got me thinking about rules and following through on my word, which is kind of funny when you're in this whole DDLG headspace. So, here's the deal. I promised myself, like so many times before, to remember the milk for our morning cereal. It’s a simple thing but it’s one of those little household chores that I always forget about and my partner has been reminding me of recently. Well, you know how it is: I get up early in the morning to start on some cleaning or laundry, and then it's off to the races with the kids until suddenly...it's time for breakfast! And there’s no milk. Again. Now, normally this wouldn't be a big deal, but lately I've been trying harder to stick to my promises and responsibilities, both in real life and our DDLG dynamic at home. So when I realized the cupboard was bare of that crucial dairy product again (and had to scramble to substitute almond milk), it left me feeling like an irresponsible kid who just forgot to do their homework. And here's where things get interesting: while usually my partner takes this stuff in stride and knows how forgettable I can be with small details, today there was a hint of something else, disappointment? That wasn't the usual playful scolding. It made me think, you know? I guess what I'm trying to say is, even when we're not playing out those kinkier scenes where discipline might come into play, little things like remembering the milk can still feel like a rule to follow. And when you fail, it’s okay to laugh about it and own up to your slip-ups... but there's also that nagging feeling of wanting to do better next time. So yeah, confession over! Anyone else ever feel this way about their silly little daily chores?
