A Day Off For Discipline
Anonymous Snuggly Pixie #184 · General Confessions
I'm not usually the type to dive headfirst into anything unconventional, but last week was different. I've been playing daddy to my submissive partner for a few months now, and we've kept it mostly light-hearted, maybe a little playful spanking here and there, no big deal. But last Monday, things took an unexpected turn. She got herself in trouble at work, a major client mishap, and instead of taking on the responsibility, she seemed to regress into this... childlike state. Normally, I’d just talk it out, but with her acting so immature after screwing up, I decided to give her a full day off from work and treat her as if she were my little girl who needed time-out for misbehavior. We spent the entire day in our living room: TV off limits except for kid-friendly cartoons; snacks only at designated meal times (and no dessert!); and an early bedtime. It was surprisingly cathartic to enforce these rules, but also... ridiculous? She even called me 'Daddy' more than usual. By evening, she seemed less stressed and much more relaxed about her mistake. Which made sense, I guess, because when you’re being treated like a little kid, it’s easier to feel small mistakes aren’t such big deals. So here's my question: is this something others do? Does playing out discipline in an adult relationship actually help with stress management and accountability? Am I just weird for finding it oddly satisfying to enforce house rules on someone I care about?
