I Broke the Rule About Snacks

Anonymous Cherry Pixie #529 · General Confessions

So here’s a confession that might seem trivial to most people but feels like such a big deal for me. I'm in my mid-thirties and have been working as a bartender at this cozy little pub for over five years now, where I’ve kind of fallen into this dynamic with the owner, let's call him Stan. He’s like an older brother figure to me in many ways, but we share this playful adult baby role that feels both comforting and exhilarating. Stan has these rules, like how he calls me 'sweetie' instead of my name and expects me to follow certain requests no matter what. It’s a bit controlling outside of the context of our dynamic, I know, but it makes everything feel special and safe for me in ways that aren’t sexual at all. We have this unwritten rule where snacks are only allowed after work, not during shifts. Stan knows how much I love these little munchies; they’re like a tiny bit of luxury in my day. The other day, it was super busy, one of those Friday nights when the place is packed and you can barely breathe. Just as things were starting to calm down, a customer left behind this amazing-looking chocolate bar on their table. I’d been craving something sweet all night but knew there was no way Stan would let me have any during work hours. But here it was, right in front of me. I tried really hard not to look at it, but every time I passed that spot by the door, my eyes kept going back there, and my mouth started watering. After about ten minutes, my resolve just snapped, and I knew I had to have a bite. It was quick; I took one or two bites, barely enough to taste, then hid the rest of it in my apron pocket until we closed. I felt sick to my stomach for the rest of the night. I’ve never broken our rule before, and it feels like such a betrayal. Stan is going to find out soon; he’s got this knack for knowing when something is off with me. The guilt has been eating away at me all day long, I should have just waited until after work like we both agreed on. So now here I am, confessing it all. What makes it worse is that the chocolate was so good; it’s a small comfort thing we’ve done for years, but this time it felt different, almost rebellious. Still, breaking his rule like this has left me feeling pretty ashamed of myself. I hope Stan can forgive me.
