Caretaking and More
Anonymous Fuzzy Plum #813 · General Confessions
I've been working from home as a freelancer for years now, and honestly, it's been amazing. Got to set my own schedule and do what I love every day. But the real fun started when my partner and I decided to play out this caregiver thing. No labels or anything formal, just knowing we'd take care of each other in ways that felt right at the time. Started off simple enough, maybe a little bit more hands-on than just asking how someone's day was. Made sure they had their meals on time, took their meds if needed, you know, practical stuff. But it didn't stop there. Soon enough, we were both getting into it deeper and finding ways to mix care with play. It's pretty cool actually, having that kind of responsibility and trust between us. Knowing when the other needs some extra attention or just a bit more push in their boundaries. There are moments where I'm handling things strictly, but also giving them room to grow. It's not about control as much as it is about care. Anyway, this isn't exactly a confession of anything scandalous, just that there's more depth and fun to taking care of someone than meets the eye. We both enjoy being in these roles now and find ways to keep things interesting without stepping into any uncomfortable territory.
