Daddy Issues? More Like Daddy Triumphs.

So there I was, my mid-30s self, fully invested in this DD (Domestic Discipline) thing with my submissive partner, a bright young woman who's twenty-six. We were both very open about the relationship and had an understanding that I was going to take on a dominant role, yes, even though it might seem like 'daddy issues' to some. Anyway, after a few months of playful, consensual discipline things hit a rough patch one night when she accidentally broke my favorite watch while cleaning up from dinner. The argument escalated quickly into a full-blown fight over the little mishap, and despite knowing all the safety words and having them explicitly laid out in our contract, it was clear she crossed that line. I made her kneel before me and then gave her some time to cool off, as per my established rules for when she breaks something, and yes, this included some traditional DD methods of guidance. Later that night we had a serious heart-to-heart conversation where I explained the gravity of breaking not just an object but our trust. The watch was symbolic because it was a gift from her grandma who passed away last year, a painful reminder in itself. She apologized profusely and said she knew the rules, yet still felt compelled to break them. It left me thinking about the whole situation, whether my methods were too strict or not enough of a deterrent for such accidents in the future. But then again, sometimes these are necessary to keep everyone grounded in reality, not everything is as simple as 'daddy issues' when it comes to adult relationships and mutual respect.
