Anonymous Velvet Pixie #509 · General Confessions

So yeah, here's a little something I've been doing for a while now. It started when my grad-school advisor called me out for being distracted and underperforming, turns out the last few months of partying and binge-watching series weren't exactly conducive to getting those degrees. Rather than drop everything again, I figured it'd be smarter to figure out how to manage my time better instead. Enter this whole little thing, where I play a role of being just 'a kid,' someone who's learning all over again from scratch. It sounds kind of silly when you put it like that, but the discipline and patience it’s teaching me? Well, it might end up helping with more than just my grades. Plus, there are perks in feeling taken care of without any strings attached, minus the actual 'taking care of,' of course. I guess what I'm trying to confess is that I’ve embraced this kind of play as a way to reset and re-focus on my goals. It’s weirdly satisfying to be reminded of responsibilities, even if it's in a very different context than school or work.
