My Secret Double Life

Anonymous Starry Petal #502 · General Confessions

I've always been so caught up in my work-from-home freelance life that I didn't think I had room for any more drama. But lately, I discovered this weird double life of mine where I switch between being a little and a caregiver. It's wild because one moment I'm feeling all small and needy with this guy who takes care of me like it’s his job, and the next minute I’m taking charge and being the adult in the room. It feels so freeing to be able to slip into these roles, even if it means leaving my real self behind for a while. I remember one time when I was feeling especially vulnerable and called him up out of nowhere asking to be taken care of like I'm just this tiny thing that needs help with everything from tying shoelaces to choosing clothes. He’s got this way of making me feel so small, but also safe in a really odd way. And then there's another time where he needed guidance or support and I became the confident one stepping up, leading him around like a mother would do for her child. It's been a real roller coaster of emotions. Sometimes I get lost in it all, wondering if this is just my imagination running away with me or if it’s really becoming an essential part of who I am now. But the exciting thing about this dynamic is how unpredictable it makes everything feel, and honestly, I love that sense of unpredictability. So here I am, spilling out thoughts on paper (or rather screen) because sometimes you just need to let it all pour out without trying to make sense of it right away. Maybe one day I'll figure it out completely or maybe this is the perfect chaos of life as a switch, always shifting and never staying still.
