A Brief Misstep

Anonymous Shy Bunny #931 · General Confessions

I can hardly bring myself to type this, but it's been weighing on me for months now. I've always kept a strict line between my personal life and the hospital where I work as a nurse in my mid-thirties. I’m what you might call a Daddy in kink circles, which is something I’ve only ever shared with a select few friends, certainly never mixed that side of me with work before tonight. The hospital was on lock-down, and I was the only person around after everyone had gone home. A patient from one of my shifts last week reached out urgently through an encrypted chat app we sometimes use for non-urgent communications. She sounded frantic, which wasn’t like her at all, so I agreed to meet up in the hospital basement where no one could find us. She wanted to talk about something personal that had nothing to do with her health or the medical care she received. It quickly became clear that our conversation was heading into a place I didn't expect, and before I knew it, we were engaging in an activity that felt so out of character for both of us but also strangely liberating. I feel terribly conflicted about this whole thing, part of me is glad to have had such an unexpected release with someone who trusted me enough to confide in me. But the other half of me worries about professional boundaries and crossing lines I've always been careful not to cross. I just can't shake off that feeling.
