A Day I'll Never Forget
Anonymous Shy Fawn #728 · General Confessions
Oh my god, do you ever have days that feel like they stretch out into forever and back again? Like, everything just feels different. Well, yesterday was one of those days for me, but it wasn't just any day...it involved a little play with a friend who needed some care. It's hard to describe the exact feeling when someone trusts you enough to be vulnerable in that way, especially when it's not your usual thing at all. So there I was, sitting on my couch, and she called me up. 'Hey,' she said, voice wavering a bit more than normal. She needed some help, wanted to feel taken care of for once in her life. There’s something about that request that just makes your heart melt instantly. We set it up over the phone, talked about where we were going with this, no real rules other than mutual respect and comfort. When she arrived at my place, I could see how much she needed this more than ever before. It was such a strange mix of responsibility and liberation. Like stepping into someone else's shoes for an afternoon just to make them feel better about themselves. The way we interacted...it felt so natural despite it being anything but usual. I'll spare the gritty details because there’s something personal about this that doesn’t quite lend itself to specifics. It was more about the energy between us, the feeling of providing something meaningful without any strings attached or expectation for repetition. By the time she left, I think we both felt lighter somehow, clearer on what we needed from each other in a different kind of way. It’s been a long while since I've experienced something so profound and yet so casual at the same time. That’s why I’m writing this, just to process it out loud here, away from the person who was involved but knowing that what happened was all about making space for a momentary escape into care and being cared for.
