When My Caregiver Mode Kicks in During Playtime
Anonymous Shy Kitten #961 · General Confessions
So here's the deal. I'm a military spouse and also someone who enjoys a bit of switch play in my DDLG dynamics, sometimes I get really into being a little, other times I’m all about taking care of others as their caregiver or mom figure. My partner is a big fan of pushing me to explore both sides, but it's always consensual and we have fun no matter what role we're playing. A couple months ago, we decided to do this really intense little/caregiver switch where I would start off being his little, needing all sorts of attention and care. But then, after a while, I'd suddenly flip the script on him and become his caregiver, checking in that everything was okay, helping out, but also with a playful edge since we both knew it was just roleplay. The setup worked really well, and it got to this point where I'm giving my partner instructions on what he should be doing and feeling as part of the scene. He's laying back, and I’m basically directing everything, telling him how cute he looks when he smiles, making sure his blanket is just right. But then something weird happened: I started getting all parental about it. You know that feeling where you're suddenly hyper-aware of someone else’s well-being? Yeah, that came out in spades as my caregiver mode kicked into overdrive. Instead of the playful instructions, I was suddenly asking him if he'd had enough water or food, reminding him to get some rest and not stress too much. It felt weird but kind of great at the same time, it’s like when you accidentally trip while walking with your significant other and they catch you so automatically that there's no pause in their instinct. It was a mix of my nurturing side meeting this super playful dynamic, all consensual and fun, just not what we had planned. So yeah, I guess the confession here is: sometimes in our little/caregiver play, I slip into such a protective, caring mode it’s hard to tell where the roleplay ends and the real me begins. My partner seems to enjoy this unexpected twist though, so maybe it's okay that my nurturing instincts have their own agenda during scenes. It's just something interesting we discovered about our dynamic together.
