Coffee Break Discipline

So there I was at work, trying to sip my break coffee in peace. You know how that goes right? Well, let's just say my little one wasn't having it. She had a day off from school and decided the coffee shop would be her playground. Customers were rolling their eyes, but what could I do? It’s not like I could tell her to behave herself without causing a scene in the middle of rush hour. So here's the kicker, I ended up taking her back into one of those storage rooms we have and giving her a quick talk about manners. Nothing major, just enough to get my point across. You know how it goes, firm but fair, with lots of eye contact and a stern tone. It’s funny now when I think about it, because it felt like half the place was waiting for us to come out so they could laugh at me. But hey, sometimes you gotta step up and be a grown-up. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
