My New Freedom and Its Challenges
Anonymous Candy Duckling #884 · General Confessions
I've been a Daddy for about three years now. My Little is my world; she's the reason I get up every day. But life took an unexpected turn last month when we both agreed to take some space from each other, both needing our independence after so long together. She said she felt like we were growing apart, that her needs weren't being met in the relationship. It hit me hard; I was afraid I'd lost my Little forever. I gave myself a week to sort things out and figure out what I wanted. By day three, I realized how much my life had revolved around being her Daddy. She loved me deeply but needed more than just little play, she wanted time for herself, to explore other interests, and yes, maybe even see others too. It was a hard truth to accept. After the week passed, we met up in person and talked things through. I agreed to give us space, with the understanding that if either of us felt ready, we could come back to each other anytime. She hugged me tightly and kissed my cheek before leaving; it felt like parting ways but also starting something new. Since then, I've been working on myself, rediscovering who I am without being her Daddy 24/7. It's freeing in many ways, but also scary to be alone after such a long time intertwined. I'm not sure if this is how everyone feels when they take a break from someone deep in their life or if it’s just me overthinking everything. So, am I the asshole for needing so much from her that she felt suffocated? Is feeling lost without my Little normal? Does anyone out there have similar experiences and can offer some advice on moving forward?
