New to This and Overwhelmed by It All

I got divorced a few months back after twenty years of marriage. My ex-husband was controlling and I just needed out for my own sanity. Anyway, after the divorce, I felt like a completely different person - free but also so lost without someone making all the decisions. One day, while surfing online, I stumbled upon this site and was drawn to the idea of DDLG as a way to explore new sides of myself. So I decided to give it a shot. I found an experienced Dominant who seemed understanding and patient with me being brand new at this whole scene. He explained things like safe words and basic guidelines, which made me feel more comfortable. We agreed on starting off slow in the little space and that we'd keep communication open about any concerns or questions I had as we went along. Our first session was... overwhelming but exciting too. There were lots of discussions about boundaries and my desires before he introduced ageplay dynamics gradually, easing into roles we both felt comfortable with. As a submissive, I found it oddly liberating to let someone else take the reins for a change. We engaged in activities that allowed me to express feelings I've never shared before; it was incredibly freeing. I'm still processing everything from this journey, but I can say with certainty that DDLG has been a profound way for me to work through my past and explore healthier relationship dynamics. It's scary being vulnerable at first, especially after years of suffocating control in my marriage, but ultimately it felt like an important step towards reclaiming myself.
