The Unlikely Confession of Dr. Adams

Anonymous Bratty Doll #298 · General Confessions

I'm a fifty-year-old doctor and yes, you read that right. I’ve only recently come to terms with my kink, which makes me feel more than a little ridiculous, given the kind of intellect we in the medical field pride ourselves on. It started, as these things often do, innocuously enough. A patient in her mid-thirties confessed something similar during an appointment for mental health concerns and it made me question everything. I had my own reasons to doubt myself, practicing medicine is full of stress and responsibility. When I’m not dealing with a life-or-death emergency, I'm managing the bureaucratic nonsense that comes with healthcare these days. So much has felt out of control in the last decade or so. I never imagined it would lead me here. But there you have it, I've come to embrace my inner masochist who enjoys being disciplined. A bit counterintuitive for someone dedicated to alleviating pain and suffering, but apparently, everyone needs an outlet that makes sense only to themselves sometimes. It’s not something I’m comfortable talking about with colleagues or even most friends, so here I am writing this as a way of coming to terms with it. I met my partner, a man in his early forties, through a friend at one of those kinky social events. We started slow; dinners and conversations that gradually revealed shared interests beyond the mundane. He’s respectful, knows boundaries, and understands my need for control in other areas of life. When I finally allowed him to take me on an adventurous date, a play session at his place, well, it was unexpectedly freeing. In those moments, you’re not a doctor or a responsible adult trying to juggle family and career. You can let go and be someone else for a while. It’s like a temporary escape from the chaos of my life. I’ve never felt the need to label myself outside this relationship, but there's something about admitting it that feels oddly liberating. I’m not asking anyone here to understand, I just needed to put these thoughts into words. Maybe one day, I’ll be okay talking openly about it, or maybe not. But for now, typing this out feels like a step in the right direction. If anything, it reminds me that life isn’t always as predictable as my surgical checklists.
