Professional Boundaries Crossed...

As an attending physician at the hospital, I've always maintained strict professional boundaries. It's a requirement of ethics and practice, after all. But recently, these boundaries have felt... permeable. I found myself in a unique position when one of my patients was someone who also happened to be part of my personal kink community. We had spoken about our shared interest in a little/lotsa dynamic during a particularly candid session, where it seemed as if we were both seeking a form of comfort or solace that traditional therapy couldn't provide... I initiated a playful yet intense exchange outside the professional setting, and while everything was consensual and age-appropriate, I'm left wondering about the implications for my career. Am I blurring the lines between my personal desires and my clinical responsibilities? Is this something others have also experienced or am I overthinking it...?
