...I Broke A Promise...
Anonymous Curious Marshmallow #259 · General Confessions
I'm in my early thirties now and have been into the little space for a few years. I've always felt very comfortable being someone's little, but as I get older, some of the responsibilities and expectations weigh on me more than they used to. Last week, something that feels like it shouldn't be such a big deal really got to me. I'd been asked by my daddy to pick up his favorite candy from the store because he was out of town for work and wanted to have some when he came home next weekend. I knew it would make him happy if I did this small thing, so I said yes with a promise in my heart that I wouldn't eat any of it myself. The next day at lunchtime, my coworker brought in cookies...and they were just so good! Before long, I found myself hungry and heading to the vending machine. There wasn’t anything there that sounded particularly appealing though...until I saw those familiar green and white packages at the bottom shelf: my daddy’s candy. I remember standing there, looking down into this tiny cage with the temptation inside and thinking about how disappointed he would be if he knew what was happening. But it seemed like such a little thing to break, after all, I was only taking one piece...or two...right? It didn't hurt anyone else and no one else even knows I did it. But now every time I see that candy or think about the next care package I'll send him, there’s this nagging feeling. I've tried to justify my actions by thinking how small they were, but it's hard not to feel like a child who just snuck some dessert when they weren't supposed to... ...It was silly of me, but those two little pieces of candy still sit heavy on my heart, and every time I think about them, I'm reminded of the promise I made and broke. I haven’t told him yet, but I feel like I need to own up to what I did even if it means facing some disciplinary action...
