The Weight of Secret Desires

Anonymous Fuzzy Cupcake #292 · General Confessions

I've been keeping a secret from everyone I know. It's not something to be ashamed of exactly, but it certainly isn't something people expect or understand when they look at me, a thirty-one-year-old woman who owns her own business and has her life mostly in order. But lately, there’s this nagging feeling inside me that I can’t shake. A craving for a simpler time, where someone else made the decisions and took care of everything. It sounds strange, but deep down, I’ve been wanting to be treated like a little girl again. Not just emotionally or mentally, but in every aspect, from how I dress to my behavior. The thought terrifies me, yet it also brings a sense of peace that I haven’t felt in years. I’m not sure if this is a phase or something more profound, and I'm starting to worry about what it means for the person I am today versus who I might become if I indulge these desires. Am I alone with these feelings? Is there anyone out there who understands or has advice on how to cope with these conflicting emotions?
