Skipping My Chores
Anonymous Secret Star #107 · General Confessions
I work in a retail store, but after hours I often find myself slipping into another role. Sometimes I'm the little one, needing guidance and care from my partner who acts as my caregiver. Other times, I'm more assertive and take on the role of a caregiver to him. It's been going great until recently when I began to feel rebellious against the rules we set for ourselves in this dynamic. Last week, after a long shift at work, I came home exhausted but still needed to complete my chores as part of our agreed-upon routine. Instead of doing them, I decided to spend some time relaxing and reading a book I've been wanting to read. It felt good to indulge myself for once, but the guilt set in quickly when I realized how much this small act of rebellion could jeopardize the trust we've built. The little part of me knows better than to test these boundaries, yet the caregiver in me is torn between feeling like I did something wrong and understanding the need to take a break sometimes. It's a delicate balance that requires honesty and open communication to maintain.
