i did it my way

i was working late shift at the coffee shop and this guy walked in, all dressed up like he's headed somewhere fancy. we talked for a bit 'cause i could tell something was off with him. turns out he'd just had an argument with his gf or whatever. so i asked if he wanted to talk it out with me as his caregiver kinda thing, no labels needed. he said yes and spilled everything. it felt good helping someone like that, made my shift way more meaningful than usual.
