Lost in a Game of Power and Submission
Anonymous Starry Bunny #583 · General Confessions
Hi there, I'm Alex. I recently started dating this guy named Sam who has introduced me to something called DDLG, Domestic Discipline Lifestyle/Games, and it's completely changed how we interact. At first, I was skeptical because I'd never really thought about power dynamics in a relationship before. But after watching some videos and reading stories online, I decided to give it a try with Sam as my Dom. Sam is pretty intense. He likes setting rules for me and enforcing them with punishments like kneeling or writing essays when I don't follow the rules. It's weird, but kind of exciting too. The first few times were hard because I didn’t know what to expect. I felt nervous, scared even. But after a while, it started feeling more natural. The thing is, I feel really torn about this whole DDLG thing. On one hand, Sam says it’s helping him be more in control and patient with me. We talk more openly now than we did before about things like boundaries and what makes us uncomfortable. But on the other hand, there are days when I just want to break all the rules and throw it out the window. Today was one of those days. Sam asked me to do my chores without any distractions, no phone, no music, just straight work. It felt so restrictive and I couldn't help but feel angry about how limited my freedom feels. So instead of doing them quietly like he wanted, I turned on some music and danced around while getting things done. He was upset when he saw me doing this. Now here's the thing: part of me knows that breaking rules is part of learning and growing in any relationship dynamic. But another part wonders if I’m supposed to feel happy all the time being disciplined like this? It feels like a game, but also something serious at the same time. I guess what I'm really trying to ask is: Am I just being dramatic or should we be more careful about how much freedom he takes away from me? Sometimes it's hard not to think back on how easy and carefree my life was before all this started. Thanks for any thoughts you have. This feels like a big deal in figuring out if DDLG is really right for us.
