Confused and Afraid of My New Cravings
Anonymous Starry Moth #469 · General Confessions
I just got divorced from a ten-year marriage after my husband cheated on me. The divorce papers were finalized two weeks ago, and I've been trying to pick up the pieces since then. But there's something new going on inside me that scares me more than the divorce ever did. My therapist suggested exploring different aspects of my sexuality as part of my healing process, so a few days ago, I stumbled upon DDLG sites while surfing the web. Reading about dominant/submissive dynamics and age play felt like it resonated with me deeply. It's an odd feeling, I feel both scared and excited by the idea that this might be something for me. I've been daydreaming about these scenarios non-stop, imagining myself in a role where someone takes care of me like I'm younger than my actual age. Or maybe it would be me taking on the caregiver role for someone else. But every time those thoughts cross my mind, I feel guilty and ashamed because they're so different from who I thought I was. To make matters worse, I found a forum where people share these kinds of stories anonymously, and something about sharing with others made it seem more real to me. Yet the fear is overwhelming, what if I try this out and discover that I really don't like it? What if my new partner finds out these fantasies and thinks less of me? I'm not sure how much longer I can keep all of this inside. I need guidance on whether exploring DDLG/age play dynamics in a consensual way is something healthy to do after a divorce, or if I should just stick to what feels safe and familiar? Have any other readers here been through a similar experience or have advice for someone who's just starting out?
