Mishandled My Responsibility as a Daddy
Anonymous Pouty Cupcake #723 · General Confessions
So I'm this software engineer who also happens to be in a Daddy/kink relationship. It's all consensual and we enjoy it, but there are rules like there would be with any other kind of arrangement or bond. Recently though, I messed up big time, not sexually or anything major, just something that still bugged me because it went against our dynamic. You see, my partner trusts me to set boundaries and stick to them. That's part of the roleplay, but it's also a metaphor for life; we want each other to be responsible. Last week, she was out of town on business and I had to take care of some household stuff she usually does, like grocery shopping and cleaning up. I forgot about an important chore: sorting through the mail that had piled up while she was gone. You know how bills tend to accumulate when you're not checking every day? Well, there were a few overdue notices in that pile. The reason I didn't deal with them right away is because I got sidetracked by some coding challenges at work. The guilt started creeping in as the days went on without me addressing it. It's silly, but when you're in this kind of relationship, missing chores or messing up your responsibilities feels like a breach of trust and a failure to live up to expectations. I'm usually very diligent about these things, so not taking care of them felt especially wrong. To make matters worse, she found out about the missed mail when she got back and there were some fines to pay off, stuff that could've been avoided if I hadn't let my work take over. It's just one thing, but it showed me how easy it is to lose focus on your responsibilities in this dynamic. I'll own up to my mistake, probably face a consequence for not following through, and we'll talk about ways to stay accountable moving forward. But man, that little lapse feels bigger than it should, given the big picture of our relationship.
