Caretaking in the Moment

Anonymous Cherry Peach #419 · General Confessions

I was so caught up in the moment that it felt surreal. Caring for someone isn't always about changing diapers or giving medicine, it's about being there when they need you most. Today, I found myself holding my charge while she sobbed softly over a breakup text. We ended up playing out an impromptu scene where she needed guidance and protection from the storm that was her heartbreak. It was intense but incredibly intimate, she called me 'Papa' for the first time, and there's something about those moments of vulnerability and trust that make everything else fall away. I felt like a superhero in that instant, capable of soothing every hurt. That rush of adrenaline and warmth is hard to describe, so I just want to let it out here.
